Sao Vicente Property around the coast
Sao Vicente has been slower to develop as a property developers`
island because of the lack of direct flights from outside the Cape
Verdes. The runway airport at Sao Pedro airport on Sao Vicente has
been extended to take long-haul aircraft, But the airlines have
not yet put on flights. Early attempts at developing holiday home
property for Europeans on Sao Vicente were a failure. And one property
developer sold out to otel. Buit the international property boom
of 2005-2007 led to a large number of new property schemes being
put forward. These range from new property in blocks of flats in
Mindelo primarily aimed at the local Sao Vicente property market
to massive property developments planned for some of the better
beaches all around Sao Vicente.
There are five areas of property development on Sao Vicente island.
The port town of Mindeloand capital of Sao Vicente itself has property
being built on the hills above the oil storage terminals. The extended
Sao Vicente airport at Sao Pedro has new villas and flats put up
by the original property developers of the hotel, since sold. Calhau
on the eastern tip of the island is being transformed from a sleepy
fishing village by new small-scale property development. Baia das
Gatas beach in the north of Sao Vicente has two or three property
developments, including a projected golf course
A vast property complex is planned by Indians at Calhete in the
south of Sao Vicente. Direct flights from the UK to Sao Pedro airport
on Sao Vicente could start in 2010. But this will depend upon some
new hotels being opened in Sao Vicente which astill lacks the capacity
of Sal or Boa Vista..

of the island.

more sites in this windy valley near the airport.
